In Verdonia, you are the ruler of your own burgeoning Kingdom. Construct buildings in the fields to collect resources. Construct buildings in the town for technology, attack and defense. Ally with other players in your attempts to win fame and fortune! If that sounds similar to Kingdoms of Camelot’s gameplay then you’re not far off.

n VERDONIA, just like in the real world, taxes make the world go round. Taxes are the immediate source of gold resources for you. This tip will help you protect your kingdom’s gold reserves.

Making sure that you have a good tax rate vis-à-vis your population can spell the difference between a healthy economy and one that is going to crash.
Although your resources determine your speed in progressing through the game, the population is still the backbone of your kingdom. With a small population, you will not be able to level up as soon as you would want to. Construct as many cottages as you can to boost your population. At the same time, level up those cottages as soon as possible to further increase the number of people living in your town.

Then like the leader that you should be, play around with the tax rate that your kingdom will impose on its subjects. The rule of thumb is that the higher your tax rate is the lower number of actual people will be willing to live in your kingdom. If your tax rate is at 10% then only 90% of the allotted occupancy rate will be filled up.

Remember that the number of people in your town also determines the number of possible troops you can have. In other words, you train or amass your army from your current population. Of course your populace is also where you get your workers. So getting that right tax rate is very important in both gaining gold thru taxes and maintaining enough people to both work and get trained for your army.

Don’t let this very important factor slip you by in this game, you might find yourself wondering as to why you can’t move on since your gold reserves drop at almost every activity you do. Remember that spending adds to your glory, but just like in real life, the kingdom does have to earn.

How to use the academy to upgrade in VERDONIA

Technology in VERDONIA makes your resource structures more viable. This tip helps you upgrade and maintain better resources without spending as much of them.

It is very logical to upgrade your Farm, Quarry, Mine and Logging structures in the hope of increasing production for your kingdom. After all, gaining Food, Stone, Iron and Wood is very crucial in upgrading vital buildings such as the Town Center, Barracks and of course the Chancery. And that is where the trick lies – save your important resources to upgrade those buildings instead of the actual farm, quarry, mine and logging sites. So how do you earn more of the resources you ask? RESEARCH is the answer.

The Academy is where you can rely on for this task. This structure allows you to research on the different tasks that you do during game play. Every research level which you perform actually upgrades that task. Say for example you research on Agriculture; your food production will increase without you having to upgrade your farm. This of course does not mean that you can forget about actually upgrade the farm, what is important to note is that researching instead of actually upgrading is CHEAPER!

Even your special items state the obvious. Speed boosts either speed the actual construction or upgrade or the RESEARCH. So the added production of an actual upgrade to the structure or research should be just about the same, ensuring you of better managed resources.

Research is not just limited to buildings but for almost every aspect of the game – from buildings to training of your army elements. This means that the actual upgrade of the Academy is something you have to consider very closely, especially if you want to conserve those very precious items in further game play.
